Hi guys. How has your week been? So this week I have got a surprise but an oldie for you guys. I love Suya!!! I always make sure I hunt for it as soon as I get back home for holidays.

So I decided the hunt needs to be over, and for it to be over, I have to do it myself. And I enjoyed every minute of it.

Ok, let’s get ready

  • beef
  • Suya pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • Peppers and onions to garnish.

  • Cooling rack
  • Pastry brush
  • 5 Skewers

The above will serve 3 people.

Lets begin.

1: soak your skewers. To save time, do this a few hours before you prep your beef
2: wash your beef
3: fillet your beef, this can be done by your local butcher or by you at home

4: skewer your beef, I would say use five fillet on each skewer. To give room for cooking

5: pour your spice on a flat tray, take a geek skewer and pat it with the spice until it is evenly covered.

6: do that repeatedly with each beef skewer

7: place the spice covered beef on a plate and wrap cling film on it. Leave it to marinade for 2 hours.

After 2 hours of marinating, turn on your oven to 180 degrees, let it warm up, place your skewers on the rack and start grilling.

After the first 20 minutes, use the pastry brush, to brush each skewer with the vegetable oil. Return back to the oven.

Keep checking on the beef, ensure that it’s cooking. If it’s getting dry, brush a little bit more oil. Don’t use a lot of oil.

Once it’s cooked, let it cool down for a bit. Once it’s cooled down, serve and garnish with onions and peppers. You could throw in some spring onions as well. Finally dust it with more spice and serve.

Bon appetite.
