Italian, recommended

Homemade pasta sauce with mixed herb meatballs

Hi guys. How are you all doing? I’m back again with another homemade recipe and this a popular dish.

I like italian dishes, for me if I have to go for a semi corporate meal with my colleagues, I would recommend italian.

Italians are known for their meals. Its all in the herbs and garlic. I like it that way. 😊

So today, I decided to re create one of my favourite meals, spaghetti and meat balls.
Meatballs can be bought from the supermarket ready made, but that means you have to make do with the taste. But I like a challenge and I also like to create new recipes.

So here we go.

Minced meat
1 Large Egg
1 tablespoon of Beef seasoning
I teaspoon of Black pepper
1 teaspoon of Salt
5 tablespoons of Bread crumbs
1 teaspoon of Oregano
1 teaspoon of Basil
1 large onions
1 tablespoon of garlic powder (or fresh garlic)
1/2 teaspoon of Brown sugar
2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
1 teaspoon of thyme
Tomato puree(optional)
Chopped parsley and spring onions to garnish ( open choice 😉)

Wooden spoon
Medium pot
Deep frying pan
Spaghetti fork

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Total time: 55 minutes

First of all wash your hands.

Blend the plum tomatoes.

In the other pot, add your blended plum tomatoes, and let the water reduce. (Cook for 10minutes, Once it’s reduced, set that aside.
Next Add the mixed herbs (oregano, basil) thyme, black pepper, salt and beef seasoning to the minced meat and mix thoroughly with your hands (please ensure your hands are washed before mixing)

Once incorporated, add the whisked egg, Mix, and finally add the breadcrumbs, mix again and then set aside.

Wash your hands again, take a small portion of the mince meat and roll into a ball. Then roll the ball in the breadcrumbs. Do this step repeatedly until its all rolled up.

Next fry the onions and garlic until it’s nice and golden. I sort of prefer it to go dark brown, it really enhances the taste a lot more.

Next add the meatballs and fry on a low heat for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, remove the meatballs, (you will notice that it has produced a bit of stock whilst frying, that’s ok it’s expected).

Next add the reduced tomato, all the remaining spices and salt, reduce the heat and let it cook for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, add the minced meat, reduce the heat and cook for another 20 minutes

Next, Boil water in a kettle, pour it into a pot, add the salt and then add the pasta to it and let it cook for about 15 minutes. For best result, don’t break your pasta. Put it straight into the pot, and as it cooks, it will slowly curl and adjust in the pot.
After 15 minutes, both the sauce and the spaghetti should have been cooked. Turn off the heat. Let the sauce cook down a bit. Drain the spaghetti in the strainer.
Time to plate up your yummy goodness.
Garnish with a sprig of parsley or spring onions (as illustrated below)

Well done. Enjoy your meal
That’s it from me.
