Chinese special fried rice

Hi guys. How are you all doing? So todays recipe is for those who reslly want to cook sonerhing quick by just revamping the meal with ingredients in the fridge. In this case we have left over rice. 

Sometimes we cook rice and there is some left. But then its a case of eating it with stew, which may not be your cup of tea at that time. So

In Order to avoid eating the same thing over and over again, here is what you can do with it and I guarantee you everyone would love it. And great news, because it’s homemade, you get to reduce the oil and sodium and also gurantee that it is fresh! Happy days. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Ok, lets get started shall we πŸ™‚


  • 4 cups of cooked rice
  • fresh or cooked chicken breast
  • Mixed veg (carrot, peas, sweetcorn)
  • 2 eggs
  • Prawns
  • 1/2 a cup Dark Soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of Light soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of Sesame oil


  • medium sized pot or wok
  • Frying pan
  • Wooden spoon. 

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 15 or 40 minutes (depends if you are using fresh or already cooked chicken) 

Method: if using cooked chicken, priceed to step two (2)

Step one

For fresh chicken: rinse the chicken, season with salt and sliced onions

Step 2

Heat up the rice in a pot or wok. 7 minutes on low heat. 


Break the eggs into a bowl. Whisk and then fry. See picture


Next Heat up the sesame oil. Fry the chicken for 2 minutes 

Next add the prawns. Fry for 1 minute

Finally add the mixed veggies and eggs. Mix together and fry for another minute. Set aside


Back to the rice. Add the sesame oil, dark and light soy sauce and mix until well incorporated into the rice.


Add the veggies, mix and then simmer for 5 minutes. 


Remove from heat and set aside. That’s it. You are all done πŸ˜ƒ

Now wasnt that easy and also refreshing? 😊
