Homemade Sweet Chilli Sauce

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? I am back again with another homemade sauce recipe. Sauces are very good, they add a different twist to appetisers and nibbles.

I like sweet chilli sauce, but my problem with it is that most of them have way too much more sugar than the chilli itself. Thats why lots people shy away from it including me. I really feel guilty when I add it to my stir fry amd I am like that’s not being healthy at all.

Anyways so I found the pepper to make them with. I was super excited and nervous at the same time. Nervous because its me against the pre packed one. As for me I wasn’t gonna let that deter me.

Ok, enough talking. Lets get started shall we. 🙂

INGREDIENTS :

  • Sweet peppers
  • 2 cloves of Garlic (fresh)
  • 1/4 cup of Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of Corn starch
  • 3/4 cup of Water
  • 1 tablespoon of Sugar

UTENSILS :
2 medium sized pot
Wooden spoon

Prep time : 5 minutes
Cooking time : 20 minutes
Total time : 25 minutes

Method:

Rinse the peppers

  
Next roughly blend the peppers with the garlic.

   

Next heat up the medium sized pot. Pour in the water. Then next add the vinegar, and sugar
   

   

  
 

Allow it to boil for 5 minutes then add the blended pepper. Mix and allow it to cook for 10 minutes 

 
After 10 minutes  

 
Next mix the corn starch with water 

   

   
Next add it to the boiling pepper. Mix continuously whilst it cooks for 5 minutes on low heat

  
Once it’s all combined, here is what you will get. 

  
It’s ready to be used. Remove it from the heat and allow it to cool down. Once cooked, pour into a jar and refrigerate until it’s ready to use. 

Here it is served as a dip
